We are an independent foundation. Initially, our assistance will focus on the reception of refugees in countries bordering Ukraine—Poland, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary—with funds going toward providing warm meals, hygiene products, urgent medical care and assistance in securing shelter. As this war rages on, we will adapt to the changing humanitarian needs and extend our support to aid projects being carried out within Ukraine, if the security situation allows. Many of our partner NGOs are operating in the region, assessing the situation and doing their utmost to provide effective and professional assistance.

Helvetas, the international development cooperation and humanitarian aid organization, has begun assisting refugees from Ukraine at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. We are currently focusing on what the refugees need most: help with transportation and communication. Helvetas is among the few international organizations with a presence in Moldova. In the coming days, Helvetas will also hand out hygiene kits at the 70 reception centers set up by the Moldovan authorities and distribute flyers with important information for refugees.
