A new website was created by the French Red Cross to help Ukrainian refugees coming to France. It is well informed, easy to navigate and it provides information on how to get help, like obtaining domiciliation or covering urgent needs like accessing benefits, food and hygiene facilities, as well as how to offer help either by making a donation or getting involved. Available in French, English, Ukrainian, Russian.
On the night of 24 February 2022, Russia declared war on Ukraine. In response to this major humanitarian crisis, the Aide Ukraine platform was created by the Coordination Committee for Aid to Ukraine, in collaboration with the Ukrainian Embassy in France. It aims to inform Ukrainians arriving in France, and French people looking for ways to help Ukraine.
In order to support access to information, solidarity and cooperation in all its forms, Relais Culture Europe will regularly publish on its website voices and stories of people from Ukraine, solidarity initiatives you can join, reactions of people in Europe, analyses to understand the situation and the European positions.
Material donations are also very helpful to the Ukrainian people. They can be made at all the district town halls, as well as at the Cathedral of Saint Volodymyr the Great, the Learning Planet Institute, and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Paris.
The Primo Levi Center provides a multidisciplinary approach for victims of serious trauma related to exile. The Center combines psychological assistance with health care as well as social and legal follow-up, with the assistance of community interpreters.
At 6 rue d’Aboukir, 75002 Paris you will find a reception and advisory office where artists are individually received and where their needs are identified. They also offer a space where artists can send time or arrange appointments. They provide computers with free internet access. It’s also a spaces for artistic practice where artists can come to work occasionally or in the form of residencies. La Maison des réfugiés is located at 50-62 boulevard Jourdan in the 14th arrondissement. A place for training, debate and research, and a cultural venue open to all. It runs French classes, art workshops and sports sessions. It works with several partners to provide group information sessions or individual counseling sessions for professionals.
Watizat is an outstanding monthly published, downloadable guide in serveral different languages (Ukrainian will follow very soon!) that collects all relevant information about accommodation, transport, medical and legal help, special support for LGBTIQ refugees, where to find free food and showers, French classes, psychological help,… There are guides for Paris and Lyon.
