WOMEN* WHAT WE ARE FIGHTING FOR, an event at KHM Academy of Media Arts in Cologne

The Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln (Academy of Media Arts in Cologne) is joining the nationwide campaign of “Soli-Kino” – Solidarity screenings for LGBTQI+ community in Ukraine – by showing the documentary WOMEN* WHAT WE ARE FIGHTING FOR. The 30-minute film is directed by Ukrainian-Russian filmmakers and activists Viktoria Guyvik and Alina Shevchenko.

WOMEN* WHAT WE ARE FIGHTING FORSynopsis
You will hear the life stories of activists from Ukraine, Germany, Russia, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Brazil, Moldova and Croatia. You will see what the activists of every country in the world face and, most importantly, why we unite and continue our struggle. (Source: Lesbiennale.art)

The screening of WOMEN* WHAT WE ARE FIGHTING FOR will take place in the auditorium of the KHM. The address is Filzengraben 2, 50676 Köln on Friday, March 18 at 7:00PM. Donations will be collected to support filmmakers and the LGBTQI+ community in Ukraine.

“The idea is to donate the money raised to the LGBTQI+ community in Ukraine. We want to offer solidarity and a stage for activists and cultural queer actions from Ukraine and beyond. We are in direct contact with queer people: some of them are still in Ukraine and some others have been able to move to neighbor countries. Some are also on the run” – said the initiators of the fundraiser “soli-kino” in an official statement.
