EFAD support to the Ukrainian film community

After having condemned the invasion of Ukraine and expressed its solidarity with the Ukrainian people (here), the EFAD association, as well as its members, have taken concrete steps to provide support to Ukrainian film professionals either in Ukraine or in the countries where they found refuge.

EFAD and its members are also in regular contact with the Ukrainian State Film Agency.

Other supporting initiatives were launched by EFAD members, such as:

  • The Polish Film Institute has created a fund supporting Polish-Ukrainian film and cultural initiatives, offers legal assistance for Ukrainian filmmakers and is publishing job offers for Ukrainian film professionals here
  • The Estonian Film Institute and the Estonian Cinema Union are collecting the job adds here
  • The Lithuanian Film Centre collects information on the job opportunities in Lithuania here
  • In partnership with the BFI, UK cinemas are uniting in support of Ukraine with a series of preview charity screenings of Olga, a new film about a young female Ukrainian gymnast forced to train in exile. From each ticket sold, a donation will be made to support Ukraine via the Disasters Emergency Committee.
