Fellowships to Support Ukrainian Scholars, Artists and Intellectuals from Institut für die Wissenschaft vom Menschen Vienna

Recognizing the need for urgent support of Ukraine’s intellectual community, the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM, Vienna) and the Ukrainian Research Institute at Harvard University (HURI) are partnering to offer non-residential fellowships for Ukrainian scholars, cultural figures, and public intellectuals. These fellowships provide a one-time stipend of 5000 EUR to support recipients’ intellectual activities. Preference will be given to applicants who intend to or must remain in Ukraine for legal, professional, or personal reasons. The IWM is also offering non-residential fellowships for Ukrainian scholars, journalists, cultural figures, and public intellectuals who are documenting the war and its consequences.

Free crisis counselling by telephone for women, children and young people affected by violence. The hotline can be reached 24 hours a day, every day. They offer Information on legal and social issues in connection with violence against women and children. They can refer you to regional women’s protection facilities and counselling centres. Help center for female refugees in Vienna

The Diakonie has a special helpcenter for women. All the legal advisors and social workers, who work there, are female and only women and small children are allowed to enter the center. They offer help in every possible situation. From legal issues and help for victims of violence and human trafficking to finding work and accommodation.
